The Nexus Venture Studio creates and builds venture-scale, deep tech climate startups. We act as an institutional co-founder for scientists, inventors, engineers and innovators to develop breakthrough climate technologies.

Research shows that start-ups created within a venture studio are more likely to succeed. They achieve seed funding twice as fast, progress through subsequent funding rounds 40-50% faster, and exit 33% faster than conventional startups. Synergies across the studio improve outcomes and reduce costs, founders benefit from an increased focus on their core capabilities, and returns expectations are increased by entering at an earlier stage.

We are seeking initial expressions of interest in the following area:

• The construction and built environment sectors. We are especially interested in novel technologies and founders looking to help decarbonize the production of cement and concrete, and those working on generative AI solutions for structural and architectural design.

Our Venture Studio offers:

• A 12-month, paid Founder In Residence programme for scientists, inventors, engineers and innovators to catalyse a concept into a business, consisting of an initial 3 month idea validation period, followed by an additional 9 month period for high potential ideas.

• Spin-out of viable businesses at the pre-seed stage, with an equity investment from Nexus Climate.
